DWDM optical channels

Eurotranstelecom LLC provides high-quality telecommunications services based on DWDM network to corporate customers, ISPs and telecom operators, which have long been recognized DWDM-technology as the best cost-effective solution for transmission of powerful data flows over long distances.

The network based on DWDM technology is used as the basis for the modernization and expansion of existing SDH and IP networks to boost their capacity, and availability.

Eurotranstelecom LLC optical network covers practically the entire territory of Ukraine. The company has created and has independent international fiber-optical border-crossing in the direction of Europe and Russia.

DWDM network built on the basis of equipment CPL (Common Photonic Level) manufactured by Ciena.

Hardware and software are constantly being upgraded and its current version allows you to organize up to 88 duplex digital channels with speeds of 10 Gbit/s, 40 Gbit/s, 100 Gbit/s and 200 Gbit/s, depending on the type of transponder used.

Eurotranstelecom LLC uses an automatic system of electronic dispersion compensation on DWDM network , which made it possible to eliminate the need to install the passive dispersion compensators and increase the length of the regeneration areas, which can reach under certain conditions, up to 2,500 km.

ROADMs (re-configurable optical multiplexers) were installed on DWDM network at the nodal points on the basis of wave switches WSS, thus achieving a high degree of flexibility in the network, i.e., it is possible to switch the operational remote channels to various directions, and that the necessary number of channels available in any of the directions of the node.

The transmission system is under twenty-four-hour monitoring and management, also put into operation the system for automatic switching of DWDM channels to the backup route.
